Magpie
* JRTCA 2003 National Reserve Open
Bitch *

Black & White, Broken, 12"
(Windever Cody x Stitch Jones) DOB June 20, 2001
Bred by Heather & Geoff Tomlins
Baer (Hearing) Tested Normal, Cerf (Eyes) Test Clear - October
2003.
Magpie is a true delight who keeps us entertained with her antics.
The resemblance between Stitch (as a puppy) and Magpie is amazing,
and we have high hopes for our little girl. She has tremendous bone
and a good head for a tiny bitch along with a harsh broken coat.
Combine her strength with flexibility, great angulation and a wonderful
top line and you have a lovely package.
We look forward to the future with her - in the show ring, out in
the field, and in the whelping box. We were so thrilled with her
litter of 6 (all males) whelped in April 2003 by Troon Quarry Outlaw. Watch for
Durango (co-owned with Aspen Ridge Terriers) and Joker - owned by
Sabine Müller, Germany. Joker's first kids are on the ground
now in Germany - they look super ...good bone and nice strong
heads. Durango's first kids are due the end of November - we
are very excited.
Like her Sire and Dam, and her brothers - Sultan and Storm, Magpie
has excelled in the show ring. Highlights in the showings
include:
2002 JRTCC National Trial, 2nd in her Open Bitch Class of 23, and
Reserve Best Canadian Bred Bitch.
2002 JRTCC Western Regional Best Canadian Bred Bitch.
As a puppy she also did very well and highlights include:
Desert Terrier Trial, May '02, Terry Petrie - Puppy Conformation
Champion
Del Sol Trial, May '02, Michelle Davies - Reserve Best Bitch Puppy
Central California JR Trial, April '02, Brian Male - Reserve Puppy
Champion & Best Bitch Pup. Puppy Champion that day was Magpie's
littermate Storm!
Central California JR Trial, April '02, Sandra Ferber - Reserve
Best Bitch.
In 2003 Magpie had only attended two trials
due to maternal duties.
At the JRTCC Regional Trial, Magpie
was Reserve Best Open Bitch to her niece, MsMunroe.
But the
thrill of a lifetime has to be our trip to the JRTCA National
Trial in beautiful Maryland. Magpie won her Open Under
Rough/Broken Bitch class. With 44 terriers in the class it was
definitely one of the bigger classes at the trial. She showed
her heart out for me - like usual - and was on top form the entire
class. Then...she went on to be named Reserve Best Open
Bitch!! What a thrill and we can't thank Bob Clough enough for
the honour.
In 2004, Magpie has continued to do well -
we have shown to 6 judges and... she has been Best Open Bitch
x 4, Reserve Best Open Bitch x 1, and Best Open Terrier
twice.
Magpie will be bred in the later part of
2004 or early 2005.
