Windever Cody of Amblegreen

Cody all dressed up and ready for "Work"!!

Cody is now embarking on a new adventure. He turned five years old September '04 and has got to do lots of things with us...showing, hunting, go to ground and agility.  As well he has been a wonderful terrier to share our home with.  Cody has sired some lovely kids that we are lucky to own or be involved with so... Recently he has been certified as a Pet Therapy Dog and has started to do visits early this September (04).  He is being handled and loved by Katie Oster - a lovely young woman.  Katie also has a daughter from Cody's first litter all those years ago.  Zoe has been a much loved companion but was not suited to doing Pet Therapy.  Katie had tried a couple of young males over the last while but Zoe was not happy about sharing her space.  Cody was not put off by Zoe and we knew he was the type of terrier that would excel at this.  It is a perfect project for a dog who loves everyone - people and animals - and who is so calm and gentle. We miss sharing the couch and his loveable 'smile', but we get to see him often.  Cody is still available for stud service and you will still see him at the occasional Jack Russell Trial.  We wish Katie and Cody many happy years bringing smiles to faces!  Congratulations also on passing  your Canine Good Citizen Test- We are so Proud of you Both!

Proudly Standing at Stud...

Cody is a very flexible terrier with great substance for his size. He has good bone, a strong head, and a very spannable chest, along with an easy to care for smooth coat. He is a confident terrier with an easy-to-live-with attitude ...equally happy in the field or romping in our home. Cody is also competing in all breed agility now within the AAC, and is doing very well with his newest adventure. He is certainly everything we could have hoped for in a stud dog and then some!
Cody has been passing on his head and bone, and has been cutting down on both size and coat with his kids. We are very pleased with what he has been producing to date and highly value him in our breeding program.

Since starting to show, Cody has had a very successful career in the ring, and has had the opportunity to show in a great many Provinces and States. To date he has been shown to 17 judges at 28 trials since first being shown as a puppy. Cody has been awarded a Conformation Champion/Best or Reserve 21 times. He is a phenomenal dog to work with and his willingness to please is great. For a full show record please drop us a line.

At the JRTCC 2002 National Trial (David Jones judging) Cody was awarded the Reserve Working Terrier Dog and also Best Canadian Bred Dog awards. What a wonderful terrier - we are so lucky to have him. His daughter, Magpie, and granddaughter MsMonroe also did great. Magpie was Reserve Best Canadian Bred Bitch and was 2nd in her competitive Open bitch class. MsMunroe was awarded Reserve Best Bitch Puppy & Reserve Canadian Bred Puppy.

Sky Top Squire - Best Working Terrier Dog, Cody - Reserve Best Working Terrier Dog

Cody also attended the JRTCC 2002 Western Regional (Roma Garon judging) along with a number of his kids. It was a fun trial, not huge, but very enjoyable with lots of smiling faces, great location and lots of Western hospitality. Cody was awarded Conformation Champion & Reserve Canadian Bred (behind his son). At the JRTNNC Trial in November '02, Cody was the Reserve Working Conformation Champion.  He repeated this in May 2003 at the JRTNNC Spring Trial.  Both times he was reserve to his Kennel Mate, Stitch Jones.

His kids did him and us proud at the 2002 JRTCC Regionals:
Amblegreen Sultan - Best Open Terrier and Best Canadian Bred
Amblegreen Storm - Reserve Best Open Terrier
Salishan Scheme - Puppy Conformation and Go to Ground Champion
Amblegreen Magpie - Best Canadian Bred Bitch & Open class win
Stryder's Martini - Reserve Best Bitch Puppy & Reserve Canadian Bred Puppy
Salishan Tease Louise - Reserve 4 to 6 month Puppy
Grand Daughter, Amblegreen MsMonroe, was Best 4 to 6 month Puppy.

At the JRTCC 2003 Regional Trial his kids continued their success:
Amblegreen Storm - Best Open Terrier and Best Canadian Bred
Amblegreen MsMonroe (grand daughter) - Reserve Best Open & Reserve Canadian
Woodcreek Stallone - Best 4 to 6 Month Puppy
Woodcreek Sly - Reserve 4 to 6 Month Puppy
Amblegreen Al Capone - Puppy Conformation Champion
Amblegreen Magpie - Reserve Best Open Bitch.

At the JRTCC 2003 JRTCC National Trial - a grandson - Amblegreen Artie was Reserve Best Open Dog and Best Canadian Bred Terrier.  Congratulations to his owner, Wendy Schmaltz, Aspatria Terriers.  We were unable to attend but heard that everyone had a great time.

We did make the trip South to the JRTCA Nationals for the first time in 7 years.  Cody was 2nd in his class, which was a thrill.  Other highlights include  his son - Capone - earning a 2nd in his competitive tall rough/broken dog class having just turned one year two weeks before.  Congratulations to his owner, Didi Gough, and thank you for entrusting Capone to me.   Magpie, his lovely daughter out of Stitch Jones, won her class of 44 (under rough/broken) and went on to be the Reserve Best Open Bitch!  What a treat to take three terriers and have them do so well.  The Trial was so much fun - the weather was nice, the setting lovely, and I got to visit with old friends and new.
